Improving the Short Game: Golf Putting Training Aids

There are many different companies that have developed golf training aids for individuals to use, such as the Leaderboard golf training aids. Although the best way to get started or to really reach the top of the game of golf is to receive training from a live coach, sometimes this is not possible and the golf training aids are the only way for the person to become more proficient at the various aspects of the game. There are golf putting training aids that are available for the short game so that the individual gets better at getting the ball in the hole, rather than overshooting it or undershooting it. There are also swing training aids that help with the power behind the swing, correcting certain issues that cause the ball to go off course, and also working on the tempo of the swing. In addition to all of these trainers, there are even inserts for the shoes and other training aids that will help with the stance of the golfer, as well as analyzing the way he is swinging the club.

Practice

One of the golf putting training aids attaches to the arm and the end of the putter. In this way, the angles of the golfer’s arm to the golf club remains that way it should and the putting stroke can become smoother and more regular, rather than different each time the golfer makes the stroke. A putting stroke should be rhythmical and firm, not tentative and inconsistent. This type of a golf putting training aid can help to improve this by helping the golfer to form a new habit in the way he performs the stroke.

Another of the golf putting training aids is the indoor putting green. This is usually a mat with a ‘hole’ in it that allows the golfer to practice his short shots on the green. Sometimes there is only a ‘hole’ that can be set up anywhere on a carpet so that the golfer can practice aiming for the hole and making the put. This is a nice feature since the golfer can basically practice anywhere, which is convenient for him, rather than having to go to the putting green.

Besides these trainers, there are also golf putting aids available that actually analyze the stroke the golfer is making. There are sensors that the golfer stands on and also a sensor that is under the place where the golf club will pass by in the course of the swing so that the computer can analyze the motion. This is helpful in catching errors when there is not a human trainer around to help with that job.
